What is the Biblical Counseling Center?

ValleyConneX Biblical Counseling Center is a ministry of Valley Baptist Church under the supervision of the pastoral staff.
- The Counseling Center is staffed by men and women members
of Valley Baptist Church who have:
•completed the certification program through the Biblical Counseling Institute.
•been approved by the Senior Pastor to participate in this ministry.
•earned certification through the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
What is Biblical Counseling?

Effectively applying the truth of God’s word to address the difficult issues of life.

The Body of Christ has the scriptural mandate to teach, counsel, restore, and evangelize. Paul wrote to the Ephesian Church: “. . . that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ. “ (Eph. 4:14-15 [NKJV]).
How do I make an appointment to see a counselor?

The best way to schedule an appointment is to call the Valley Baptist Church Office at 920-733-8823 and speak with the secretary, or e-mail valleyconnex@valleyconnex.org.

Men and women counselors are available each Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

During the first session, you will meet with the Counseling Center Supervisor to complete some brief paperwork and to meet the counselor. Plan on 60 minutes.

At the close of a session, a determination will be made between you and the counselor as to whether another time should be scheduled to meet with the counselor.
What kinds of issues would a person discuss with a Biblical counselor?

Who can use the services of the Biblical Counseling Center?

The ministry is available to anyone regardless of church or religious affiliation.

Promotion is through the church newsletter & website, announcements, email and personal referral.

The Valley family is encouraged to refer people not attending Valley Baptist Church to utilize this ministry.

Consistent with many ongoing ministries of Valley Baptist Church, no fees are charged, expected or accepted.
What are the expectations of ValleyConneX Biblical Counseling Center?
- To assure that information shared during a counseling
session is treated with the highest standard of
integrity.
•Normally this means absolute confidentially.
•Integrity, however, may necessitate notification of appropriate officials should a clear imminent danger exist to the person, a family member or to the general public.
